Assumption of Mary into Heaven and Apostle Thomas

  1. "We know that the immaculate Virgin Mother subdued the passions." Really? How exactly do you know that? The New Testament doesn't speak on this. Early Church Fathers spoke of the moral faults of Mary, and the earliest Christian sources do not reveal the kind of veneration of her that we see today.

  2. Just reflect on what God asked Mary to do. To give him flesh, to carry God the infinite in her womb. What kind of person would God choose to do this. Remember scripture was not written about Mary but about Christ. There are ancient documents and Tradtion that give us knowledge about the great woman she was. She was obedient to God giving her ascent to give birth to His Son. As Luke recorded, she is referred to as the most blessed of woman. Why would you not want to honor such a woman as this? Without her we would not have Christ.

    1. Honor her and make up stories about her are two different things. You mention ancient documents and traditions tell us. Do you have any Ante-Nicene sources?
